Matthew C. Hearing received a PhD. in Neurosciences from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston on May 21. His dissertation title was "The Role of Activity-regulated Gene Expression in Context-driven Relapse and Extinction Following Abstinence from Cocaine Self-administration."
Hearing has accepted a post doctorate position at the University of Minnesota in the department of Pharmacology.
The University of Minnesota is ranked among the top three colleges of pharmacy nationally and houses leading experts on drug design, delivery, therapy and policy.
He is a 1999 graduate of Monroe High School and received his bachelor of science from Marquette University where he also received a minor in chemistry. He and his wife Amber will reside in Minneapolis.
