MONROE - For the 26th consecutive year, the Monroe Arts Center will sponsor the Wisconsin Regional Arts Program (WRAP) Competition and Exhibit from March 22 through May 3. A demonstration/lecture, judging and critique by professional artist Ingrid Dohm will be the focus of the artist workshop from 9:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 4. The event is co-sponsored by the Monroe Arts Center and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Department of Liberal Studies and the Arts.

Artists are invited to participate in the WRAP competitions and workshops held across Wisconsin throughout the year. The competition is open to all area non-professional artists over the age of 14. Work must be original; no molds or patterns from another artist may be used. Up to two entries per artist are allowed and all media are accepted, including oil, acrylic, watercolor, photography, sculpture, fiber, metal, glass, wood, prints, pastel and digital.

The state award winners selected from all 2013 WRAP competitions will be on display at the University of Wisconsin Madison in September, when additional awards and prizes will be given.
