DARLINGTON - Fourth-grade students and teachers from 12 different school districts from the surrounding area will travel to Redrock-View Farms, Darlington, for the fourth annual Lafayette County Day at the Dairy Thursday.
The day is being sponsored by a group of local dairy producers to provide an educational experience about dairy farming in Lafayette County. These farms include Cottonwood Dairy LLC, Darlington Ridge Farms LLC, Highway Dairy Farms LLC and Redrock-View Farms. Additional local sponsors have been secured to pay for educational material, lunch and transportation expenses.
Students will be able to participate in a mock milking station, feed a calf and see what life is like every day on a Wisconsin dairy farm. A lunch of pizza, milk and apple slices will be provided, as well as a sampling of other dairy products.
