DARLINGTON - Darlington High School students will present "Pride and Prejudice" at 7:30 p.m. Friday and April 1 and at 1:30 p.m. April 2. All performances will be held at the Darlington High School auditorium.

The romantic comedy, which was adapted by Joseph Hanreddy and J.R. Sullivan, is based on the novel by Jane Austen. "Pride and Prejudice" is one of literature's most beloved romantic comedies.

The story revolves around the Bennet family. When intelligent, headstrong Elizabeth Bennet encounters the dark, brooding and wealthy Mr. Darcy, she is unimpressed, especially when he interferes with a match between his friend, Mr. Bingley, and Elizabeth's dearest sister, Jane. As a series of tumultuous events threaten the Bennet sisters' position in society and their prospects of marriage, Mr. Darcy suddenly seems a constant presence in Elizabeth's life and they both begin to question their assumptions.

There are more than 30 students in the cast and 50 in the crew.

Tickets are general admission and cost $6 when purchased in advance at the DHS office (or call 608-776-4001) or $8 at the door.
