DARLINGTON - Would you like to make a difference in your community? Would you like learn more about yourself; learn more about working with people to get things done; network with other leaders in Grant, Lafayette and Iowa Counties; and become a more effective leader?

If so, consider the Community Leadership Alliance. Better leadership is not just for elected officials. Learning about leadership is for anyone who wants to make more of a difference in their community, and it is available to everyone.

The Community Leadership Alliance program provides an opportunity for current and future leaders to become more aware of the dynamics of issues facing our communities and to expand opportunities for leadership. Community leaders, professionals, and UW faculty will engage participants in perspectives and discussions on a range of topics related to leadership. Through this program, you will meet and work with many others who share a commitment to helping their community.

Each session will challenge participants to increase their knowledge and become actively involved as community leaders. Participants meet the last Wednesday of each month from January through June at sites throughout Lafayette, Grant and Iowa Counties. Tuition is $345 per participant. Scholarships are available from Community Leadership Alliance and from those served by Scenic Rivers Energy Cooperative.

The next class of CLA will begin in January 2008, and applications are now being accepted. Class size will be limited to 30 participants.
