Corn Promotion Board seeking nominations

MADISON — The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection is accepting nominations for three seats on the Wisconsin Corn Promotion Board to be filled by those who grow and sell corn in Districts 4, 8 and 9.

Producers in those districts can also nominate other growers in their area. DATCP will accept nominations through Nov. 1. Producers who grow and sell corn in the following counties are eligible:

District 4: Monroe, Juneau, Adams, Waushara, Marquette and Columbia counties.

District 8: Jefferson, Walworth, Racine and Kenosha counties.

District 9: Green and Rock counties.

A completed nomination form must include the signatures of five eligible corn growers other than the nominee. Completed forms also must be notarized.

DATCP’s Market Order Coordinator Debbie Gegare will mail nomination forms to any producer who requests one prior to Nov. 1. Contact Gegare at 608-224-5116 or DATCPMarketOrders@Wisconsin.gov.

Mail completed forms to WI DATCP, DAD, P.O. Box 8911, Madison, WI 53708-8911. DATCP will conduct the Wisconsin Corn Promotion Board election from Dec. 15 through Jan. 10. Elected growers will serve three-year terms beginning Feb. 1.
