DARLINGTON - Once again, the Lafayette County Land Conservation Department will have a display at the Lafayette County Fair, July 15-19. The LCD, in cooperation with UW-Extension, will offer free water testing for nitrates. Those who would like to have their water tested should bring in a pint of clean well water at any time during the fair.
The LCD will host the DNR Laser Shot simulator used to teach hunter safety at their booth. The LCD will also have information on the Working Lands Initiative (WLI), a program scheduled to replace Farmland Preservation.
And they will be taking orders for rain barrels at the fair. Come and learn how they work.
"Set Your Sites High." Play some games or make a button, test your water, and learn about invasive plants and animals.
For more information on any of these displays, contact the LCD office at (608) 776-3836.
