MONROE - The fourth and fifth grade students at Abraham Lincoln Accelerated Learning Academy will present concerts at 1:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21 in the high school performing arts center.
For their spring concert, the students have been preparing a program called "Rock and Roll Forever: How it all Began." This show is dedicated to the early stars of Rock and Roll. Swoon and croon right along with the students as they celebrate the history of Rock and Roll. Guest performers include Elvis Presley, Little Richard, The Beatles, The Beach Boys, and the popular T.V. show host, Ed Sullivan. The concert will also include a few selections by the fifth grade choir and a variety of instrumental selections by the fourth graders.
Performing for family, friends, and the Monroe community is a highlight for the students. They not only have an opportunity to share their hard work with others, but by performing in front of a live audience, it teaches the students about the discipline, perseverance, dependability, composure, courage and pride in results.
