Computer recycling event today

MONROE - Computer Heroes will collect computers and electronics for recycling from 8 a.m. to noon today, May 2. Residents of Monroe may bring their computers and electronics to Computer Heroes, located at 132 W 6th Street in Monroe. All computers and electronics collected by Computer Heroes will be recycled by Resource Solutions Corp. out of Madison.

There is no charge for the following items: LCD (flat screen) computer monitors, computer mice, CPU's, laptops, keyboards, computer cords, circuit boards, UPS power strips, scanners, printer cables, printers, telephones, cell phones, fax machines, VCR's, DVD players, remote controls, and stereo equipment. There will be a small fee of $10 for CRT computer monitors and copiers.

Resource Solutions attained ISO 14001:2004 Certification in October 2008. Certification demonstrates dedication to protecting the environment by keeping hazardous materials out of the landfill. At Resource Solutions, all computers and electronics accepted for recycling will be recycled for their base metals, glass, and plastics.
