UW-EAU CLAIRE  — Four hundred eighty-one incoming freshmen received scholarships from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire for the 2020-21 academic year, with many students receiving multiple awards. Albany: Nathaniel Ross, Blugold Excellence Scholarship, Blugold Incentive Scholarship, Chancellor’s Scholarship, Freshmen Honors Scholarship 


UW-LA CROSSE  — The following area students completed degree requirements at the University of Wisconsin-La 

Crosse in August. Belmont: Jenna Buss, master of education, professional development Darlington: Cortney Street, master of education, professional development 


UW-OSHKOSH  — Following are summer graduates of the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh—many who participate in the spring ceremony but become official when their degrees are complete. Monticello: Madalyn Holtz, kinesiology 


UW-STEVENS POINT STEVENS POINT — The University of Wisconsin Stevens Point conferred degrees on more than 1,100 graduates for the spring 2020 semester. Blanchardville: Adler Schmidt, bachelor of science,  fisheries and aquatic sciences Monroe: Eva Priewe, bachelor of science, dietetics, summa cum laude


UW-STOUT — Scholarships valued at more than $870,000 were awarded to 394 University of Wisconsin-Stout students this academic year through the Stout University Foundation Inc. The students received the awards during a fall virtual scholarship reception, which replaced the traditional on-campus event because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Belleville: Lauren Christen, Alan J. and Ellen E. Carlson Scholarship; Dwight and Linda Nyhus Davis Scholarship Blanchardville: Levi Douty, Fulton and Edna Holtby Endowed Scholarship


RIPON COLLEGE — Area students were named to various honor societies during the Awards Convocation in the spring of 2020. Evansville: Kourtney Camm, was named to the Phi Sigma Iota (Foreign Language) honor society Monroe: Jillian Heidenreich, was named to the Phi Sigma Iota (Foreign Language) honor society. Heidenreich was involved in the production of Spoon River presented at Ripon College with a prelude performed by the Symphonic Wind Ensemble. Heidenreich, majoring in Anthropology with a minor in Spanish and Philosophy, played in the band on alto saxophone during the performances on Sept. 24, 25, 26, and 27. The parents of Heidenreich are William Heidenreich and Beth Heidenreich, both of Monroe. 


WARTBURG COLLEGE WAVERLY, Iowa — Emily Raab, Warren, Illinois, has been accepted into the Wartburg College Teacher Education Program. Raab had to demonstrate effective reflective components in teaching and complete several other requirements to be considered for the program. Admission to the Teacher Education Program allows students to begin professional education courses in their field.


 UPPER IOWA UNIVERSITY FAYETTE, Iowa — Upper Iowa University is pleased to announce two local graduates. Tiffany Miller, Belleville, graduated with a Master of Business Admin degree in Corporate Financial Mgmt Emphasis in July. Jessica Deegan,  Brooklyn, graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Studies in August. 


UNIVERSITY OF UTAH SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — Despite nationwide concerns over declining enrollment for institutions of higher education due to the COVID19 pandemic, the University of Utah saw its largest total enrollment in its 170-year history for the Fall 2020 semester.
