News: On January 14, 2024, the Clarence Bridge Pioneers hosted their annual Veggie Car Races. Veggie Car Races is a tradition that has been around since the Clarence Bridge Pioneers 4-H group was founded in 1991. Members build a little car using a wooden block and four wooden wheels. Once you’ve built the base of the car you can paint it then decorate the veggie car by adding real vegetables and fruit. Before you race, you vote on which car looks the best. The best-looking car receives a People’s Choice trophy and certificate. The fastest car receives a Grand Champion trophy and certificate. Elijah Bochman won People’s Choice with his “hot wheels” veggie car. Ezekiel Ritschard won 1st place, Grand Champion, as the fastest veggie car. Isaiah Ritschard took runner-up. Veggie races is a super fun tradition and one of our favorite Club Activities. I encourage you to join the Clarence Bridge Pioneers and come have fun with us!
