JUDA - The Juda: Zion and Oakley: Union United Methodist Churches will present their 15th annual Easter musical at the Juda church, corner of Church and Walnut Streets in Juda. Performance are 2 p.m. on Palm Sunday, April 5, and 1:30 p.m. on Good Friday, April 10.
This year's presentation, "Bow the Knee," tells the old story with familiar hymns and new songs. The focus is on two Roman soldiers who react very differently. Both observe the ministry, arrest and death of Jesus, but Marcus, played by Tom Miller, rejects the Messiah's claims.
Anthony, played by Gene Dobbins, experiences the resurrection and comes to faith in Christ.
Playing the traditional parts are Jacob Ramos as Jesus, Marvin Becker as Peter, Dennis Pfingsten as Judas and Jerry Ladwig as Pilate. Ann Kloepping has a solo as the woman forgiven by Jesus. The play is directed by Shelly Jordan.
Both performances are open to the public. There is no admission charge, but a free-will offering will be received.
More information is available by calling (608) 934-5398.
