Churches to combine choirs for ‘Christmas Memories’

JUDA — For the past 25 years the combined choirs of Juda Zion and Oakley Union United Methodist Churches have presented musicals during the Christmas season. The tradition will continue this year with a program of “Christmas Memories” on Sunday, Dec. 1 and Sunday, Dec. 8. Both performances will be at 1:30 p.m. in the sanctuary of Zion Church, N2350 Church St., Juda. 

Under the direction of Shelly Jordan, the musical will take us back in time to Christmases past and includes songs and narration that tell of the birth of Christ. As with all performances, the program will conclude with a candlelight ceremony as the audience sings “Silent Night,” accompanied by Kalvin Kaderly on guitar.

Members of the adult choir are Deb Hauri, Kim Shields, Heidi Bolton, Rudy Kaderly, Judy Kaderly, Joyce Hoesly, JoAnn Dobbins, Gene Dobbins, JoAnn Eberle, Julie Davis, Kay Carter, Darlene Becker, Bob Severson, Libby Jordan, Kim Becker, Peggy Jordan, Jean Busker, Jake Hoesly, Pat Daniels, Sharon Creuzer, Nadine Whiteman and Jan Ladwig. Judy Kaderly is director of the Children’s Choir, whose members are Liana Daniels, Gracyn Bolton, Ciarrah Davis, Quintin Soddy, Ryleigh Brown, Jayden Brown, Blake Adkins, Sophie Bolton, Tucker Bolton, Reagan Matzke and Dash Denure. Accompanied by JoAnn Hawthorn on Dec. 1 and by Julie Zimmerman on Dec. 8.

A time of fellowship and refreshments will follow each performance. The public is invited to attend this Christmas program.
