Churches set to perform combined Easter musical

JUDA — The combined choirs of the Juda Zion and Oakley Union United Methodist Churches will present a new dramatic musical for the Easter season. “We Are Witnesses,” created by Kenna Turner West and arranged by Daniel Semsen, will be presented at 1:30 p.m. on Palm Sunday, April 14 at Juda Zion Church, N2350 Church St., and again at 1:30 p.m. on Good Friday, April 19 at the church. 

The program includes the testimonies of some of those who encountered Jesus firsthand, including John, Peter, Mary, Nicodemus and the Woman at the Well. Directed by Shelly Jordan, the musical features new songs and will be an inspirational experience for all who attend. 

Members of the Adult Choir are Peggy Jordan, Jean Busker, Jan Ladwig, JoAnn Dobbins, Joyce Hoesly, JoAnn Eberle, Stephanie Pollock, Rudy Kaderly, Bob Severson Jr., Julie Davis, Kim Shields, Kay Carter, Sharon Creuzer, Judy Kaderly, Gene Dobbins, Jacob Mahlkuch, Bill Jahn, Deb Hauri, Kim Becker, Darlene Becker, Jacob Hoesly, Dennis Pfingsten and Pat Daniels. The Children’s Choir, directed by Judy Kaderly, includes Sophie, Tucker, and Gracyn Bolton, Lia Daniels, Blake Adkins, Riley Brown, Ciarrah Davis and Reagan Matzke. 

One of the dramatic scenes is of the Last Supper where the 12 disciples are played by Marvin Becker, Bill Jahn, Dakota Davis, Jacob Mahlkuch, Rudy Kaderly, Jerry Ladwig, Emerson Jordan, Justin Soddy, Kyle DeNure, Curtis Mansfield, Justin Bolton and Marvin Creuzer. The program is open to the public. 

There is no admission charge but a free will offering may be left after the performances. A time of food and fellowship will follow each performance.
