MONROE - First Baptist Church has a new program called "Word and Deed" based on I John 3:18 which says, "My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth."
The church has a list of volunteers who will help any elderly or disabled people in the community who need help with shoveling or other projects this winter.
People may call the church at 325-2250 and they will send someone to help.
There is no cost for this service as it is a volunteer-based program.
