Church plans first chili cook-off

SHULLSBURG - The Centenary United Methodist Church will host its first Chili Cook-off from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 29, at the church.

It is considered "Open Class" so chili cooks everywhere are invited to compete, and the public is invited to come and test the chilis by purchasing a bottomless bowl.

To sign up, contact the Centenary United Methodist Church at (608) 965-3455 and leave contact information to reserve a spot. Entry fee is $10. Prizes will be handed out based on the judges' panel results and people's choice.

The cost to attend is 13 and older, $6; children 5 to 12 and seniors 65 and older, $3; and children 4 and younger are free. For more information about the contest, call the Centenary United Methodist Church at (608) 965-3455.
