MONROE - Monroe Arts Center, 1315 11th St., will host the Christian group Koine at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19. Mt. Olive Evangelical Lutheran Church, Monroe, is sponsoring the group.
Koine, Greek for "common," consists of Brian Davison, singer; Tracy Fedke, singer; Seth Bauer, piano; Seth Kock, drums; Benj Lawrenz, guitar; and Matt Scott, bass.
Since 2004, Koine has been touring North America sharing their take on familiar Christian hymns. Originally formed as a praise band for their home church, the band's popularity spread allowing them to perform nearly 200 times each year.
