BRODHEAD - The schedule for the Chili Contest, held during AutumnFest, was announced. AutumnFest is set for Sept. 26, with the contest being held in Exchange Square.
From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., chili tasting will take place. Prizes will be awarded at 2:45 p.m.
Judging categories are first, second and third places for Best Chili and Most Creative Booth.
Contest rules are chili must be made from scratch, and brought pre-cooked; three-gallons of chili must be supplied; and chili will be judged by public taste-testers. Contestants will serve their chili samples to the public. Cups and spoons will be provided by the committee; contestants will be provided with 3-feet of table space to present their chili; and electricity will be supplied for electric pots/Nescos. Propane campstoves are encouraged to heat the chili. Those who participate must bring their own extension cord.
