BRODHEAD — The 2019 “Day of the Dead” will feature a chili contest Nov. 2 on Brodhead’s historic square.
Tasting will be from noon to 3 p.m. with the prize awarded at 3 p.m. Cooks must bring at least three gallons of cooked chili to the contest. Chili must be made from scratch. There is no entry fee. Chili will be judged by taste-testers and served to the public. Cups and spoons will be provided. Contestants will be provided four feet of table space and electricity will be supplied for electric pots or roasters, however each contestant is asked to bring their own extension cord. Propane camp stoves are encouraged to heat the chili.
