MONROE — Just in time for collecting, wearing, and holiday gift giving, the Cheese Days store is filling up with items.
Cheese Days fans will want to add the fourth in the series stoneware pottery piece to their collections: a dome top mason jar capped the old-fashioned way with a red rubber seal and a Ball zinc jar lid. These limited-edition mason jars are hand-numbered and were crafted by W.A. Painter Pottery Works in Kansas. Each piece in the pottery series has featured artwork depicting an item iconic to the festival — like a Brown Swiss cow. For this year, the artist used a vintage Swiss beanie as inspiration.
T-shirts, sweatshirts and glassware featuring the 2022 button logo are also now available. Cheese wedge aprons and flour sack dish towels make great gifts. Hand-crafted cheese earrings and Edelweiss earrings fit perfectly in holiday stockings. For the smallest festival goers, the store has onesies imprinted with “My First Cheese Days.”
In addition to new merchandise, Cheese Days is now running deep discounts on items marked 2020 — with all shirts and caps selling for $5.
The Cheese Days store will be open with special holiday hours featuring in-store specials and giveaways on Thursday, Dec. 2 from 4-7 p.m. and Friday, Dec. 3 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The store is located in the basement of the Historic Green County Courthouse in downtown Monroe. To set up a different time to shop after those sale days, call the Cheese Days store at 608.325.7771.
