MONROE - Green County Cheese Days is currently seeking volunteers to assist with a variety of activities prior to and during the festival weekend, Sept. 19-21.
Volunteer opportunities include:
Hospitality tent (stage side) - Helpers are needed for various duties including uncapping beer bottles, pouring and serving beer samples, preparing cheese and other food samples for distribution to the audience, helping presenters unload and reload their vehicles, and general set up for the various demonstrations and presentations. Shifts are on Saturday: 9:15 a.m. to noon, noon to 2 p.m., 2 to 4 p.m. and 4 to 5 p.m.
Hospitality tent (dining side) - Helpers needed to clean up tables. Contact the chairpersons directly: Carol Leopold at 325-9629 or Jonna Heins at 325-3373.
Hospitality tent set up and tear down - Helpers are needed to help set up the stage, tables, and chairs on Thursday evening, September 18. The actual time of set-up depends on when the tent is up, but will hopefully be around 8 p.m. Tear down will be around 7 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 21.
Beer stand - Assistance is needed in selling tickets and in pouring beer. Shifts are Friday and Saturday noon to 3 p.m., 3 to 6 p.m., and 6 to 9 p.m. Shifts on Sunday are noon to 2 p.m. and 2 to 4:30 p.m.
Arts and crafts - Help is needed on Friday morning to assist with chalking off the booths and attaching the temporary plastic fence with zip ties. Also staff the headquarters on Saturday: 9 a.m. to noon, noon to 3 p.m. and 3 to 6 p.m.; Sunday 9 a.m. to noon.
Retail tent - Assistance is needed on Sunday, especially during the parade.
