MONROE - The Green Bay Packers play the Cincinnati Bengals next weekend, so the Monroe Chamber of Commerce is starting the tailgate early.

The Chamber will be celebrating Gov. Scott Walker's proclamation that September is Chamber of Commerce Month. Al Rufer, Chamber board of directors' president, will be grilling brats from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 22 at the Chamber, 1505 9th St., Monroe. Chips and root beer also will be served.

The lunch for this "Super Casual Friday" is being provided to show the Chamber's gratitude for the community efforts that happen all year.

The lunch will be on the back deck. In case of rain, it will be moved inside to the lower level conference room. There will be plenty of seating. The event is open to the public.
