FREEPORT - Free lunch-hour access to the Stephenson County Fair will again be sponsored by the Freeport Chamber of Commerce.
On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, people may enter the South Gate of the fairgrounds between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Attendees will be asked to leave a $5 deposit with a Chamber representative. Upon leaving the fairgrounds by 1 p.m., their $5 deposits will be returned. This allows area employees to visit the fairgrounds on their lunch hours without paying gate admission. This year's Stephenson County Fair is July 13 to July 18 in Freeport. The main features include:
Tuesday, Youth Night beginning with the Queen and Little Miss Pageants at 4 p.m. followed by celebrity showmanship, scrambles, talent contest, tug of war contest and more
Wednesday, Big Hat Rodeo at 7:30 p.m.
Thursday and Friday, Lucas Oil Midwest Nationals Tractor Pulls, noon and 6 p.m. both days
Saturday, Country Singing Sensation Joe Nichols at 8 p.m.
Sunday, Demolition Derby at 2 p.m.
