MONROE — The first of three concerts in 2019 by members of the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 3 at Monroe Arts Center’s Gunderson Stiles Concert Hall, 1315 11th Street.
An hour-long classical concert with music by composers Ludvig van Beethoven and Carl Nielsen will be played by a seven-member ensemble on the violin, viola, cello, bass, clarinet and bassoon.
Now celebrating its 59th season, the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra and its ensembles, is a vibrant and thriving professional orchestra dedicated to connecting its audiences to the transformative power of music. The Orchestra performs approximately 25 concerts per year, including Concerts on the Square, Masterworks, family concerts, and other performances reaching 240,000 people. With a core orchestra of 34 musicians and a home in the Capitol Theater at Overture Center for the Arts and on the steps of the state Capitol building, WCO is one of the top chamber orchestras in the country.
The seven-member ensemble performing March 3 include concertmaster Suzanne Beia (violin), Nora Frisk (viola), Timothy Archbold (cello), Ben Jensen (bass), Bernard Parish (clarinet), Midori Samson (bassoon) and Linda Kimball (horn).
