NEW GLARUS - The Friends of the Chalet of the Golden Fleece Museum, along with the Village of New Glarus, will host an open house from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16.
Having just completed its first season with all volunteer guides, the Friends group planned the open house to express their appreciation to residents and businesses who offered support this past summer.
"We want folks who haven't been to the Chalet to come and find out for themselves what makes this building and its collection so special. We hope old friends of the Chalet stop by and learn more about the Friends and their efforts on behalf of the museum," said Mary Statz, current curator for the museum.
Guides will be available to provide tours and answer questions. There will be a short presentation at 7:30 p.m. and the event includes door prizes.
The Chalet will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12 and Sunday, Oct. 13. It will close for the season Sunday.
