MONROE - The Celebration of Lights service starts at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 2 in the United Methodist Church of Monroe at 2227 4th St.

Monroe Clinic hospice is now taking ornament reservations for the Celebration of Lights. Celebration of Lights is a wonderful way to honor a loved one during the holiday season.

For a minimum donation of $7, an ornament is created for your loved one who is also recognized at the Celebration of Lights service. Loved ones who are either living or deceased may be honored.

Attendees may pick up their ornaments at the church before or after the service. If you are unable to attend the service, ornaments should be picked up by Jan. 7 at the St. Camillus Center, 2101 6th St., Monroe.

Proceeds will fund community bereavement programs, which offer support and help to those who are grieving.

For many years, participants in the Celebration of Lights service have enjoyed supporting hospice programs through this holiday tradition. Below are some comments from past participants:

Ornaments can be reserved now through Dec. 1. Order forms are available at the St. Camillus Center, Clare's Closet (first floor of the hospital building), the clinic and hospital information desks, or by calling 608-324-1230, or 800-367-8406.
