Celebrate St. Patrick's Day at the library

MONROE - Begin your St. Patrick's Day celebration with your friends at the Monroe Public Library. Families with children ages 3 and older are invited to stop by any time from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, for St. Patrick's Day Fun, a program filled with crafts and stories.Participants will have the opportunity to make a variety of crafts and hear Blarney Stone Stories with Kris Ault, Youth Services Librarian, at noon.The VolunTEEN Leprechauns will lend be on hand to assist young crafters as they create leprechaun puppets, shamrock necklaces, shamrock banners, claddagh friendship cards, and good luck charms.All friends of the library, regardless of age, are invited to don a bit o' the green and join the Youth Services staff when they march in Monroe's St. Patrick's Day Parade Tuesday. Decorated wagons and strollers are welcome as we hand out lucky gold coins to parade watchers.
