Carp-O-Rama next weekend
Yellowstone Lake Fishing

ALBANY — A fishing event will take place on the Sugar River Sept. 27-29 to catch invasive carp from local waters, courtesy the Lake Winnetka Sugar River Improvement Association (LWSRIA).

Fishing categories include bow, and hook/line/spear/hand to catch the fish, but there is no seine netting allowed.

There are prizes for each category up to $50, including a $50 bonus for the largest carp measured by weight. Kids 14 and under will win fishing gear prizes.

The carp must be caught from the Sugar River in Albany or on the mill pond (Lake Winnetka), upstream of the Albany Dam. Only Common Carp will be counted. All youth under 14 on a must abide by PFD requirements.

Count and weigh-ins will be at the Albany Legion boat dock (Sept. 28 at 5 p.m. and Sept. 29 at 3 p.m.). Prizes will follow after the final count and weigh-in.
