Carp Fishing Contest to be held Labor Day weekend

ALBANY - The Lake Winnetka/Sugar River Improvement Association Inc.'s annual Carp Fishing Contest held will be held over Labor Day weekend.

Fishing will be held from Aug. 29 through Sept. 1, above the Albany dam and in the lake. Registration is not necessary. Fishing can be by rod and reel or by bow. Prizes of $50 are awarded for the most carp caught and for the biggest carp, along with other prizes.

Last year's first- and second-prize winners were Tad and Tate Harnack for the most carp caught, which was 77, and for the largest at 10.36 pounds. Third prize went to Korinna Hawkins for 47 carp and fourth prize went to Andy Stephan for five carp.
