Thomas Butts received the Mid-State Equipment Scholarship which is awarded to students in agriculture engineering technology or agribusiness. Preference is given to children of current employees of Mid-State Equipment and students from Wisconsin.

Butts will be a freshman at University of Wisconsin-Platteville majoring in agriculture engineering. He is a 2008 graduate of Black Hawk High School and the son of Jayne Butts and Randy Butts, both of Browntown.
