JANESVILLE - Blackhawk Technical College will be hosting its sixth annual free Health Fair on Wednesday, April 1, at the college's Central Campus (North Commons). The event is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Colleen Koerth, BTC Employment Specialist and member of the Health and Wellness Committee, said the fair is intended to help BTC staff, students and the public be more aware of all the various outlets that can provide them with important health information to improve their lifestyles. Those attending the fair will be able to gather information and experience some hands-on demonstrations done by various vendors throughout the area. People will be able to explore a large variety of health-related areas such as: spa relaxation techniques that include paraffin dips and chair massages, cholesterol screenings, BMI and blood pressure testing, posture checks, healthy recipes, and much more.
A number of door prizes and gift certificates will be drawn, and winners will be announced throughout the fair. Canned food for the local food pantries will be accepted. These entries will allow you to be placed into a special drawing for a prize.
The event is open to the public, at no charge, and further information can be obtained through Colleen Koerth by e-mailing: ckoerth@blackhawk.ed or a poster of the event is viewable on BTC's Web site at www.blackhawk.edu.
