MONROE - The Monroe Campus of Blackhawk Technical College has a wide variety of educational opportunities starting soon. Providing lifelong learning for area residents is one of the goals of the college. The classes will meet at the BTC Monroe Campus unless otherwise noted.
Photoshop Basics, begins Monday, Feb. 16, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. for four sessions at Monroe High School.
Sign Language/Beginning-Using American Sign Language, begins Tuesday, Feb. 17, from 6 to 8 p.m., for 10 sessions.
Watercolor Basics and Beyond for Beginners and Beyond, begins Wednesday, Feb. 18, from 6 to 8:30 p.m., for eight sessions.
Digital Photography for Beginners, begins Thursday, Feb. 19, from 6 to 9 p.m., for three sessions.
Marketing Warfare - What Does It All Mean? What do all the various terms on food labels mean? What is the difference between "organic" and "natural"? How does the consumer navigate marketing terminology to differentiate hype from fact? Come to this one time workshop, 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, to learn how to be a more discriminating consumer when reading nutritional terms.
Plan Your Herb Garden, begins Saturday, Feb. 21, from 9 to 11 a.m., for two sessions.
Signing for Babies and Toddlers - Being able to express oneself is a basic human need and sign language gives babies a way to share what they are truly feeling or needing, thereby reducing frustration and outbursts. Teaching American Sign Language to infants and toddlers enhances communication between parent and child and/or caregiver and child. The class is scheduled to start on Monday, Feb. 23, 6 to 8 p.m., for 10 sessions.
