MONROE - There is still time to take advantage of some learning opportunities at the Monroe Campus of Blackhawk Technical College coming up in the next couple of weeks. Due to some start date changes, some classes are still available for enrollments.

• E-Mail Basics: Learn about sending and receiving messages, forwarding, saving, printing, how to create an address book, and more. Recommended pre-requisite: an introductory computer class or comparable experience. The class is scheduled to start on Tuesday, March 3, meeting from 8:30-11:30 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays for four sessions.

• Postcards, Posters, Fliers, and More: Learn how to use Publisher software to create professional looking brochures, newsletters, fliers, postcards and other marketing materials. Publisher includes dozens of customizable templates, design guidance, and a complete collection of desktop publishing tools. The class will meet from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. beginning on Thursday, March 5 (new start date) for two sessions at Monroe High School.

• Plan Your Herb Garden: Learn the basics for planning and laying out an herb garden for your own use based upon personal preferences as to size, herbal varieties, timing, and more. The class will meet from 9 to 11 a.m. beginning on Saturday, March 28 (new start date) for two sessions.

For more information about these and other BTC classes, call the Monroe Campus at 328-1660. Campus office hours are 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday. The campus is located at 210 4th Avenue on the northwest edge of the city.
