MONROE - The Monroe Campus of Blackhawk Technical College has offerings that look forward to spring.
Organic Gardening for Beginners is scheduled to start on Wednesday, February 24, from 6 to 9 p.m. and meets for three sessions at the BTC Monroe Campus. Attendees will learn the basic principles and methods for successful organic gardening. Information will cover soil preparation, pest management and disease prevention without the use of chemicals. Best practices and techniques for planning and organizing your garden will also be discussed.
Plan Your Herb Garden is scheduled to meet from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 27, and again on March 6, at the BTC Monroe Campus. Basic information covered on how to plan an herb garden will include the basics of laying out a garden and planning for your personal preferences including size, varieties of herbs, timing of plantings and more.
Other BTC classes coming soon include the Social Networking workshop from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 25, introducing participants to Twitter, Facebook and other social media sites and how they are being used in today's world. Computer for Absolute Beginner for persons with little or no computer experience will begin on Monday, March 1, from 1 to 3:30 p.m. and meets on Mondays and Wednesdays for six sessions. A Photoshop Basics class, scheduled for 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. starting on Tuesday, March 2 for four sessions, will introduce attendees to the Photoshop program and give them experience in enhancement of their photos.
