BRODHEAD — Local resident Fritz Wenger and the Tractor Drive & Ride committee held the 6th annual Tractor Drive & Ride on Sept. 22 at the Brodhead Airport.
Despite the wet weather, many participated and raised money to surpass the 2018 fundraiser. This year the Tractor Drive & Ride raised $5,846 for the Alzheimer’s & Dementia Alliance of Wisconsin.
Several drivers came with their tractors shined and ready to show. The morning wagon riders had a scenic tour. Spectators also enjoyed the airplanes at the Brodhead Airport.
Boy Scout Troop #108 served lunch. A brief presentation of “10 Tips to a Brain Healthy Lifestyle” was given by Teena Monk-Gerber, dementia outreach specialist of Green and Rock Counties for the Alzheimer’s & Dementia Alliance of Wisconsin. Funds raised from the Tractor Drive/Ride will benefit programs, education, support and services to Green County families from the Alzheimer’s & Dementia Alliance of Wisconsin.
The Tractor Drive & Ride committee will plan the September 2020 event and will return to the Kelch Aviation Museum at the Brodhead Airport.
The committee hopes to display classic cars as well as airplanes at next year’s event. The Tractor Drive & Ride is grateful to 60 amazing sponsors — local businesses, individuals and organizations who supported this year’s event.
