Brodhead student participates in study tour to London

KENOSHA - Erica Baxter of Brodhead participated in a J-Term study tour to London with Carthage College.

J-Term is a special month-long period of study in which Carthage students explore subjects outside their majors or minors, discover new interests and test their creativity through classes held both on campus and around the world. Carthage is ranked fourth in the nation among baccalaureate institutions for student participation in short-term study abroad.

Students on this tour studied how multiple social identities (e.g., gender, race, class) create unique experiences and perspectives for individuals. Students met with local advocacy groups, visited museums and attended a theater performance as they examined practical and theoretical implications of social categories. Using an interdisciplinary approach, students applied sociological and psychological perspectives to understanding identity, diversity and equality.
