MONROE - Collection day for the annual Scouting for Food drive, benefiting Green County Interfaith Food Pantry, is Saturday, March 6. Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Venture Scouts, together with youth organizations, will be taking to the streets in Monroe to pick up donations, and deliver them to the pantry.
Donations should be placed on the front step, where they can be seen from the street, by 8:30 a.m. Saturday. Items should be placed in a grocery bag for easier collection.
If a donation has not been picked up by noon, call the Green County Food Pantry in Monroe at 329-7511 or drop off the donation at the Monroe pantry. Donations may also be left at local grocery stores or area churches.
Blackhawk Area Council, B.S.A., will be participating in this one day "Good turn," and hope to collect 100,000 food items for local pantries.
