Community Brief

STOCKTON, Illinois — Paula Baysinger Morhardt, author of “Widow’s Walk: How My World Ended and What Happened After,” will host a book signing from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 21 at Main Street Parties and Events, 113 S. Main St. All profits from the sale of the book will go to the Stockton Music Boosters.

Baysinger Morhardt works for Colony Brands in Monroe, and her grandchildren attend Monroe schools.

She will read selections from the book at 2 p.m., with the presentation of the first check to the Stockton Music Boosters at 3 p.m. Books will be available to buy that day, and anyone who has already bought a book is welcome to come and have it signed.

“Widow’s Walk” is about the sudden death of Paula’s husband in November 2017, her mother’s death the next day, how she learned to cope with her world ending, and how she started to pick up the pieces of her life afterwards.
