Blood drive beats quota, collects 34 units

SOUTH WAYNE - An American Red Cross blood drive was held Aug. 5 at Marty's Village Inn. The quota for the drive was 25 units, with a total of 36 potential donors presenting. There were 34 units collected with two people giving a double.

Aubri Armendarez was a first-time donor. Other donors were Keith Jackson, Brandy Armendarez, Caitlynn Kamps, Cheyenne Blake, Michaela Snider, Ken Anderson, Judy White, Tom Aebly, Cindy Aebly, Cheryl Dale, Grant Dale, Daniel Lemiske, Loretta Brummel, Jack Hagen, Venessa Meier, Nancy Ernzer, Mary Zimmerman, Connie Meier, Carolyn Signer, Ed Ernst, Tom Welnitz, Jim Meier, Herb Tornow, Deb Wolfe, Joan Jensen, Mary McKnight, Don Seffrood, Jenny Burns, Gary Burns, Lonnie Stauffer, Tim Stauffer, Brenda Seagreares, Donna Wyss, Travis Skattum and Kenneth Heimann.

Tom Aebly and Jack Hagen each won a $10 Visa card in the drawing at the end of the day.

Donating to the canteen were: Valley View Cheese, cheese; South Wayne Mart, milk; Village Inn, coffee; Jan Mathys, Carole Broge and Joyce Paulson, sandwiches; Pat Baumgartner, cookies; Connie Meier, cookies, sausage and crackers.

Workers for the day were Carole Broge, Joyce Paulson, Judy Curran and Connie Meier.

The next drive in South Wayne will be Nov. 17.
