Blanchardville Library to host program on falcons
library

BLANCHARDVILLE — Join the Blanchardville Public Library (208 Mason Steet) for a 6 p.m. presentation on August 28 of North America’s smallest falcon, the American Kestrel.

Landowners across the state have been working with Southern Wisconsin Bird Alliance to create habitat for these declining birds to survive and thrive. Learn all about the ecology, life history, and status of this small but mighty raptor, and how the public can make a difference for their survival. Note: there will be no live birds at this program.

Jenn Schneiderman is a volunteer with Southern Wisconsin Bird Alliance’s kestrel program. She received her master’s in Wildlife Ecology in 2020 at UW Madison. She now works at Sauk County Land Resources and Environment as a Conservation Technician. In her work, she focuses on creating spaces for humans and wildlife to enjoy restored habitats. In her spare time, she loves birding, hiking, gardening, and any number of nerdy hobbies.
