SOUTH WAYNE - The Black Hawk School District held its Scholarship Night on May 14. Black Hawk School District Scholarship Winners, 2014 Tessa Cushman received the Academic Excellence Scholarship for $2,250 per year up to four years ($9,000); South Wayne EMS scholarship for $500; Black Hawk Girls Basketball scholarship for $100; Black Hawk Student Council scholarship for $50; Monroe Medical Foundation scholarship for $200; Black Hawk Booster Club scholarship for $100; Edward Wolff Memorial scholarship for $100; and Ervin Johnson and Phyllis Johnson Foundation scholarship for $3,000. Marissa Monson received the Black Hawk FFA Chapter scholarship for $100; Black Hawk FFA Alumni scholarship for $800; Black Hawk Girls Basketball scholarship for $100; Robin Wright Marty Memorial scholarship for $300; Colony Brands/Stateline Business and Home Expo scholarship for $300; Black Hawk Booster Club scholarship for $100; Irene Huschitt and Hans Huschitt Memorial scholarship for $250; BH Dennis Murphy scholarship for $325; Gratiot American Legion Post 177 scholarship for $250; Tina Eckerman Memorial scholarship for $1,000; Woodford State Bank scholarship for $300; The Monroe Clinic Volunteers in Partnership scholarship for $500; Ervin Johnson and Phyllis Johnson Foundation scholarship for $3,000; Ethel Budenz Scholarship for $1,250; Edgewood Presidential Honor scholarship for $12,000/year; and Edgewood Alumni Award scholarship for $2,000.
