On Wednesday, Jan. 29, Black Hawk School District held its annual spelling bee in the Black Hawk High School Lower Commons. Sixth grader Russell Ruegsegger won the bee with sixth grader Easton Larse finishing as the runner up. Ruegsegger will represent Black Hawk School District at the regional spelling bee at Southwest Technical College in Fennimore on Feb. 5.
