MONROE — Monroe mystery author, Bill Ross, has published his ninth fictional book in the Monroe Mystery Series, “The Curse of Burr Oak Farm.”

A brief synopsis — Since 1841, a farm place located off Exeter Crossing Road near New Glarus Wisconsin, has seen its share of tragedy. A series of unnatural deaths and suicides have haunted the farm for decades. In May of 1974, a brutal murder occurred at the farm house. Green County Sheriff, Thomas Wahl, is understaffed and asked Monroe Police Chief, Brandon Johns, to handle the investigation. He agrees. Along with Detective Samantha Gates, they begin to work their way through a maze of suspects, lies and deception to bring the killer to justice. To put all the pieces of the puzzle together to find the killer has proved to be a very difficult challenge. Will they find that one piece of critical evidence to solve the murder?

The book is available for sale on Amazon and at the Monroe Area Chamber of Commerce. Ross is writing a series of mystery books lifting up local Swiss culture and life in Monroe and Green County for tourism. His hope is that these books reach a national audience that puts us on the map as a tourism destination. All the proceeds from the book sales go to the Chamber of Commerce.
