NEW GLARUS — Dan Ziehli, Wisconsin State Bee Inspector, and the Sugar River Beekeepers will offer a free, hands-on Beekeeping Basics workshop at the New Glarus High School Auditorium from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 2. Sponsored by the Town of New Glarus Parks Commission, this is a workshop presenting the initial steps for beekeepers. 

The following topics will be taught during this workshop: Honey bee hive types, what questions to ask when purchasing, beekeeping laws, queen installation and pest and disease identification.

Those attending will participate in exercises to learn honey bee package installation, mixing feeds and bee medication. Capital Bee Supply will have supplies.
