MONROE - Big Brothers Big Sisters kicks off its 2010 Bowl for Kids' Sake campaign this week. The goal in this 25th Anniversary year is $100,000.
Team captains are invited to Kick-Off the campaign at the Ratskeller at Turner Hall in Monroe on Thursday, March 18. They can get in the swing by practicing Wii bowling and winning prizes. They can pick up team supplies and set a team goal.
Big Brothers Big Sisters expects 800 people throughout Green County to participate and collect contributions from 10,000 donors. Success will be celebrated May 1 to 7 at five bowling lanes including Turner Hall, Leisure Lanes, Swiss Lanes, Cardinal Lanes, and Albany Lanes.
This signature event makes it possible for Big Brothers Big Sisters to change children's lives. "A financial contribution helps Big Brothers Big Sisters start a child on a different path to positive outcomes," says campaign chair Dave Mosher. "It's not just the volunteer mentors that have the power to change lives. Donors do, too." Bowl for Kids' Sake funds two thirds of the Big Brothers Big Sisters programs including six schools and all communities in Green County.
Thirty-one companies and groups are sponsoring this event: Albany Lions, Alliant Energy, Bank of Brodhead, Brodhead Lions, Bruni-Miller Construction, CG Schmidt, Culvers & CENEX of New Glarus, Rev.
