MONROE - The Wisconsin 4-H Foundation recently recognized Badgerland Financial as a 2011 State 4-H Sponsor. By providing a donation of $5,000, Badgerland Financial will benefit nearly 100,000 4-H youth participants across Wisconsin.
Badgerland Financial has been a partner with Wisconsin 4-H since the 1960s, and their contributions support numerous 4-H activities throughout the state. Some of the activities include the 4-H Area Animal Science Days, the 4-H Arts Camp, the Wisconsin 4-H & Youth Conference, and both the State 4-H Adult and Youth Leader Council Meetings.
"Badgerland Financial's support plays a large role in funding the Animal Science Days and Livestock Judging Events over the summer," Patricia Harrington, director of the Wisconsin 4-H Foundation, said. "Through judging contests and events, youth gain knowledge of animals through breeding and market evaluation and management information. These learning opportunities help youth to increase their decision making and public speaking skills, as well as learn how to work with a team in a competitive setting."
