FREEPORT - Winneshiek Players announce an open call for cast and crew for "The Sunshine Boys," by Neil Simon, directed by Mark Jansen. Auditions will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 2 and Tuesday, March 3 at the Winneshiek Playhouse, 228 W. Clark St., Freeport.
The cast will include five males (of which two are "retired" age), and two females (one is a voluptuous character role).
"The Sunshine Boys" Al Lewis and Willie Clark played vaudeville as a team for 43 years, but mutual dislike has kept them far apart for the last 11 years. Now CBS wants them to appear in History of Comedy and their reunion sparks delirious comedy.
The play will be performed at 7:30 p.m. on May 8, 9, 14, 15 and 16.
