MONROE - Jean Ausmus recently accomplished two new school pictures of past Monroe school buildings for Monroe's 150th Birthday Celebration that is permanently displayed at the Library. The new drawings are of St. Victor's School, 1916 and Green County Normal School, 1920. These new drawings will be displayed with other drawings previously created by Ausmus.

The prior drawings consist of First High School, 1871; North (Churchill) School, 1882; East School, 1891; South School, 1896; the Second High School, 1915; Abraham Lincoln School, 1916.

Historic Monroe recommends that Monroe High School reunion groups purchase these postcards for mementos. These beautiful colored pencil drawings are available, in postcard form, at the Welcome Center and Wing and Pond.
