Jackie Wyss (center) poses after winning the People’s Choice Award for Main Street Monroe’s downtown art walk, which was held on Saturday, Oct. 19. She is pictured with art walk volunteers Tina Duemler and Lauren Burkey, Marne Bechtolt (representing House to Home Designs, which hosted Wyss) and Main Street’s director Jordan Nordby. Wyss is a colored pencil and watercolor artist who portrays simplicity in the details of nature, children, and the elderly. She captures lines, creases, and strokes of the sharp point of a colored pencil slowly and scrupulously onto Stonehenge paper, canvas, and wood. The event, which first started last year, will become an annual event on Main Street’s calendar of events. Its next event is Trunk or Treat on Sunday, Oct. 27 and a wine walk on Nov. 7. Tickets can be purchased online at MainStreetMonroe.org or by calling at 608-328-4023.
