MONROE - The Monroe Arts and Academics Booster Club, along with Katee and Stephen Eliasson, hosted the second annual Art on the Hill event on Sunday, Oct. 6. The event was held to raise funds to support the arts and academic extracurricular activities at Monroe High School.

The event included performances and talks by current Monroe High School students and teachers to raise awareness of the programs the booster club can help. Each donor received a piece of pottery handcrafted by MHS art students; Kathy King, teacher; and Sue Barrett, community member.

Over the past two years, the MAABC supplied grants to support various programming at MHS and has also issued scholarships to graduating seniors for artistic and academic excellence. Projects, including wireless microphones for the Performing Arts Center, Smartboard and software technology to enhance art and music programming, and student travel to academic competitions and events, have been fully or partially funded by the MAABC.

To donate to MAABC, checks can be made payable to the Monroe Art Center, 1315 11th St., Monroe, WI 53566. Checks should include MAABC on the memo line.
